Celebrating language diversity in the West of Naarm Melbourne
Saturday 7th December
11AM – 3PM
Seelaf Square,
1 Secomb Place, Footscray
Language links communities, enhancing our connections to the people and places around us. So let’s celebrate them!
ViệtSpeak is a non-profit organisation based in Maribyrnong, made up of parents, teachers, academics, activists and community members who advocate for community-centred language education. Angliss Neighbourhood House is an independent community centre in the heart of Footscray, bringing people together to learn, connect and engage in our local community.
Together we are bringing to life a showcase of cultural exchange, language diversity and community engagement through the Language in Community Festival. Uniting language communities, artists, educators, advocates and families from across Naarm Melbourne, the festival will be a day of performances and activities dedicated to celebrating language diversity and supporting its continuity from generation to generation. All language communities are invited to join us for a day of song, dance and language sharing.
Register your interest for participating in this year’s Karaoke Storytime feature, or volunteer to help make the day a success! For program, artist and presenter information please click the links below. If you are interested in holding a community stall, click here. See you at the festival!
